Sr Front-end Engineer - HTS Stays & Packages (100% Remote - USA)

Role Overview

Senior Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer for Hopper’s Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) team, specifically the Stays & Packages platform. You’ll help build booking flows, search, checkout journeys, and scalable platform capabilities for hotel and bundled travel experiences across multiple partner portals.

Day-to-day

• Work with a group of top-tier engineers in a low-process, trust-and-autonomy environment.
• Drive decisions and consensus asynchronously using thoughtful documentation.
• Ship end-to-end features from UX through implementation (including backend/data when needed).
• Build scalable front-end solutions that enable efficient launch of new portals.
• Collaborate with PMs and business partners to define and refine the roadmap.
• Maintain performance, usability, and long-term maintainability while scaling across partners.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in React with modern patterns:
  • Functional components, hooks
  • Performance optimizations
  • Server-side rendering (SSR), hydration
  • Advanced state management
• Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with enterprise-scale applications.
• Advanced CSS knowledge (e.g., Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, animations, cross-browser quirks).
• Experience with contemporary frontend tooling, including:
  • React Query / TanStack ecosystem
  • Tailwind or design-token-based styling
  • Modern build tools such as Vite
• Experience with monorepos is a plus (Turbo, Nx, pnpm workspaces).
• Strong frontend architecture fundamentals:
  • performance, accessibility, responsive design
  • testing and maintainability
• Frontend performance optimization experience (lazy loading, code-splitting, caching, Lighthouse).
• Experience with complex product flows (e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech).
• Ability to balance product feature delivery with platform thinking in multi-brand / white-label environments.
• Familiarity with SSR and static site generation (e.g., Next.js) for SEO-friendly experiences.
• Passion for testable code and knowing which tests matter.

Nice to Have

• Full-stack engineers with a frontend tilt who can collaborate on API design, backend systems, and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP/AWS). Not mandatory.
