Sr Front-end Engineer - HTS Stays & Packages (100% Remote - USA)

Role Overview

Senior Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer for Hopper’s HTS Stays & Packages team. You’ll help shape and scale lodging and bundled travel booking experiences across partner portals, balancing rapid UI delivery with long-term platform architecture.

Responsibilities

• Work with a top-tier engineering group in a low-process, trust-and-autonomy environment.
• Ship end-to-end features: UX → frontend implementation → backend/data, when needed.
• Architect scalable frontend solutions to efficiently launch new portals.
• Partner with PMs and business stakeholders to define and refine the roadmap.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and drive asynchronous alignment through strong documentation.
• Maintain performance, usability, and long-term maintainability across multi-brand/white-label experiences.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in React with modern functional patterns (hooks), performance optimizations, and SSR/hydration.
• Strong TypeScript experience building/maintaining enterprise-scale applications.
• Advanced CSS skills (Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, animations, and browser quirks).
• Solid frontend architecture fundamentals: performance, accessibility, responsive design, testing, and maintainability.
• Strong tooling familiarity (e.g., TanStack/React Query, Tailwind/design-token styling, Vite or similar build tools).
• Experience optimizing performance (lazy loading, code-splitting, caching, Lighthouse).
• Experience with complex product flows (e.g., e-commerce/travel/marketplace/fintech).
• Familiarity with SSR and static site generation (e.g., Next.js) for SEO-friendly experiences.
• Write testable code with good judgment on what to test and which test types matter.

Nice to Have

• Experience with monorepos (Turbo, Nx, pnpm workspaces).
