Sr. Flutter Developer

Role Overview

Sr. Flutter Developer on Cognizant’s Digital Engineering delivery team. You will design and build high-quality, scalable cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and collaborate with product, UI/UX, QA, and engineering peers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mobile application modules with Flutter (Dart) based on business requirements
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases to ensure performance, scalability, and code quality
• Build reusable components and libraries to support future development
• Implement UI from UI/UX designs using mobile UI best practices
• Integrate APIs, third-party services, and backend data storage
• Debug and troubleshoot issues while preventing regressions
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and QA in an agile environment

Requirements

• Hands-on Flutter framework and Dart experience
• 1+ year experience in cross-platform mobile application development
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data
• Experience with mobile architecture patterns: MVVM or MVP
• Knowledge of iOS and Android platform guidelines
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience integrating cloud services such as AWS (AppSync, Cognito) and/or Firebase
• Understanding of mobile app performance optimization, session management, and security best practices
• Ability to debug production issues
• Effective collaboration in a cross-functional agile team

Nice to Have

• Native mobile development experience (Android: Java/Kotlin, iOS: Swift/Objective-C)
• Real-time technologies such as Socket.io
• Image optimization, offline storage, and CDN usage
• Mobile SDK integrations and advanced security implementations
• Modern mobile DevOps practices and release management
