Role overview

Sr. Firmware Engineer for the company’s IoT team. You’ll work across embedded initiatives end-to-end—owning firmware architecture, bringing up new hardware, and ensuring deployed firmware performs reliably in real-world conditions.

Responsibilities

Own firmware architecture decisions across one or more active product platforms
Bring up new hardware revisions and integrate peripheral drivers with minimal ramp time
Monitor deployed firmware in the field, triage issues, and ship fixes with urgency and discipline
Design and implement wireless connectivity flows (e.g., pairing, OTA, reconnect logic, fleet health)
Reprocess and validate firmware behavior across hardware variants and edge cases
Integrate new sensors, actuators, and communication modules into existing firmware architectures
Participate in code reviews with a high bar for correctness and long-term maintainability
Track scope, timeline, and technical risk, surfacing issues early
Communicate directly with clients to align deliverables with constraints when scope diverges

Requirements (must-have)

Write production C/C++ at the register level, owning memory layout, interrupt handling, and real-time constraints
Have shipped embedded firmware through DVT into mass production for a product with real end users
Independently bring up new hardware: bootloader, BSP, device tree, peripheral drivers (no hardware babysitting required)
Strong Deep RTOS fluency

Nice-to-haves

Comfortable under ambiguity; documents architectural decisions so others can follow
Experience with architectural decisions under unclear specs
Background/interests that support design & quality sense (design, art, music, food, fashion); variety of hobbies/side projects
