About the role

Role overview

Sr. Director, Design Management at STACK Infrastructure, driving the evolution of design standards, digital engineering capabilities, and data center innovation across the Americas. You will advance STACK’s data center design strategy, lead a cross-functional team, and serve as a subject matter expert on data center design innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of design and engineering professionals; build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive innovation initiatives across the Americas aligned to STACK’s long-term data center design strategy and digital engineering roadmap.
  • Oversee campus master planning, integrating automation, AI, and digital twin technologies into the design process.
  • Review and oversee final delivery of project contract documents from third-party consultants to ensure targets for budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Maintain and evolve Basis of Design (BOD) documentation, including:
    • Revit-based digital standards
    • Test-fit playbooks
    • BIM standards
  • Support construction teams with clash detection, conflict resolution, and digital technology implementation for improved delivery.
  • Partner with Process and Development teams to implement Power BI dashboards for cost, trends, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage multi-project design deviation logs to improve long-term processes and cost efficiency.
  • Lead adoption of Digital Twin technologies and establish a future implementation roadmap across STACK campuses.
  • Communicate design policies and practices to ensure consistent standards and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Present updates to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on innovation strategy, budget performance, capital impact, and design excellence.

Requirements

  • Master of Architecture OR Professional Engineering degree (Structural, Mechanical, or related).
  • 10+ years progressive design/engineering experience, including at least 5 years in the data center sector with hyperscale or enterprise clients.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering large-scale design initiatives.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to pass background and drug screening.

  • Location: Plano, TX; will consider remote for well-qualified candidates.
  • Travel: Up to 30% domestic.
