Sr. Data Engineer

Role Overview

Sr. Data Engineer (Senior Data Engineer) at Kobie. You will be a key technical contributor and operational owner in the Data Engineering function, with deep focus on Snowflake and production data pipelines that power client reporting and emerging AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational backbone of Kobie’s data platform, ensuring Snowflake environments and ETL/ELT pipelines run reliably and at scale.
• Translate client loyalty program requirements into production-ready data warehouse structures, including dimensional modeling and delivery to Kobie Alchemy Loyalty Cloud (KALC) tables and extracts.
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve data pipeline failures quickly to minimize client/internal impact and prevent recurrence.
• Evolve Kobie’s data architecture to support incoming event-driven, domain-driven application layers without breaking production foundations.
• Build the data infrastructure that enables AI-powered loyalty products through reliable and well-governed platform capabilities.
• Improve pipeline trustworthiness using automated testing, audit logging, CI/CD discipline, and documentation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience designing and operating production-grade data pipelines.
• 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience as a primary data warehousing solution, including strong fluency with:
  • Data sharing
  • Data clean rooms
  • Marketplace
  • Snowpark
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript for transformation and pipeline/automation development.
• Demonstrated CI/CD experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with data replication tools such as Kafka, GoldenGate, HVR, Qlik Replicate (or similar).
• Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling (e.g., star schemas and related practices).
