Sr. Data Engineer

Role Overview

Kobie is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer to serve as an operational backbone for its data platform. You will own production data pipelines, lead client implementations, and help evolve Kobie’s data architecture for event-driven and AI-powered workflows inside a large-scale Snowflake environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Kobie’s ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional models, and Snowflake environments run reliably and at scale for daily client reporting and dashboards.
• Translate client loyalty program requirements into production-ready data warehouse structures, from source analysis and dimensional modeling through Kobie platform tables/extracts (KALC).
• Diagnose and resolve pipeline failures quickly to minimize impact for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Evolve the data architecture by redesigning the data mart to support an incoming event-driven, domain-driven application layer without breaking existing production foundation.
• Enable AI-powered loyalty product delivery by building a reliable, well-governed data platform (focused on infrastructure rather than model-building).
• Improve pipeline trustworthiness via automated testing, audit logging, CI/CD discipline, and documentation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience operating and designing production-grade data pipelines.
• 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience as a primary data warehousing solution, including deep fluency with:
  • Data sharing
  • Data clean rooms
  • Marketplace
  • Snowpark
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript for transformation, pipeline development, and automation.
• CI/CD experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with data replication tools such as Kafka, GoldenGate, HVR, Qlik Replicate (or similar).
• Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling (e.g., star schemas, slowly changing dimensions).
