Role overview

Kobie is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to serve as a key technical contributor and operational owner within its Data Engineering team. The role focuses on operating and evolving Kobie’s Snowflake-based data platform for enterprise loyalty clients, enabling reliable reporting and AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational backbone of the data platform, ensuring ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional models, and Snowflake environments run reliably at scale.
• Convert client loyalty program requirements into production-ready data warehouse structures (source analysis, dimensional modeling through KALC platform tables/extracts).
• Diagnose and resolve production data pipeline failures quickly to minimize client/internal impact and prevent recurrence.
• Evolve data architecture by redesigning Kobie’s data mart to support an event-driven, domain-driven application layer while preserving the production foundation.
• Build a reliable, well-governed platform to enable AI-powered loyalty products, using engineering excellence (automation, governance) rather than only model building.
• Improve pipeline trustworthiness via automated testing, audit logging, CI/CD discipline, and documentation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience designing and operating production-grade data pipelines.
• 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience as a primary data warehousing solution, with deep fluency in data sharing, clean rooms, marketplace, and Snowpark.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript for transformations, pipeline development, and automation scripting.
• CI/CD experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with data replication tools such as Kafka, GoldenGate, HVR, Qlik Replicate, or similar.
• Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling (e.g., star schemas, slowly-changing dimensions).
