Sr. Data Engineer

Role: Sr. Data Engineer

You will be a senior technical contributor and operational owner within Kobie’s Data Engineering team, responsible for production data pipelines and the Snowflake-based data foundation that drives client reporting and emerging AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational backbone of Kobie’s data platform, ensuring ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional models, and Snowflake environments run reliably at scale.
• Translate client loyalty program requirements into production-ready data warehouse structures (source system analysis → dimensional modeling → KALC platform tables and extracts).
• Diagnose and resolve pipeline failures quickly to prevent impact and recurrence.
• Evolve Kobie’s data architecture by redesigning data marts to support an incoming event-driven, domain-driven application layer.
• Build a reliable, well-governed data platform enabling AI-powered loyalty products (focus on platform and governance, not just model building).
• Improve pipeline trustworthiness through automated testing, audit logging, CI/CD discipline, and maintainable documentation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience designing and operating production-grade data pipelines.
• 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience as the primary data warehousing solution, including fluency with:
  • data sharing
  • data clean rooms
  • marketplace
  • Snowpark
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript for data transformation, pipeline development, and automation scripting.
• CI/CD experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with data replication tools such as Kafka, GoldenGate, HVR, Qlik Replicate (or similar).
• Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling (star schemas, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting event-driven and AI-enabled data workflows within large-scale Snowflake environments.
• Demonstrated ownership of client implementations and production architecture evolution.
