Sr Data Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Data Engineer (remote-first) supporting a partner company via Jobgether. You will architect and build cloud-based data ecosystems, designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data infrastructure that improve how businesses and consumers interact in the digital era.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark
• Build reusable data engineering frameworks in AWS and Snowflake
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
• Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and orchestration workflows using Managed Airflow
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines to meet SLAs; optimize query performance, storage costs, and compute resources
• Ensure data governance, observability, and lineage tracking for critical data assets

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift
• Expertise in Snowflake performance tuning and schema design
• Deep understanding of Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Extensive experience with Airflow (or similar orchestration tools)
• Git version control experience and ability to implement CI/CD for data pipelines
• Practical experience with code-based ETL/ELT tools
• Ability to work independently and communicate complex technical concepts in fluent English
• Solid grasp of data observability, monitoring, and governance practices

Nice to Haves

• Experience optimizing cloud data ecosystems end-to-end (pipelines, orchestration, governance, and cost/performance)
