Sr. Cloud Architect

Role Overview

Senior Cloud Architect for enterprise cloud architecture leadership in a large-scale SaaS environment on AWS. You will design, secure, deploy, and optimize cloud-native systems while setting architectural standards and governance aligned to regulatory and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable, resilient AWS cloud-native SaaS architectures.
• Define and maintain enterprise cloud standards, reference architectures, and reusable design patterns.
• Create and govern architectural blueprints across infrastructure, application design, and data flow.
• Establish cloud governance frameworks (guardrails, policies, architectural principles).
• Ensure compliance with security/regulatory standards including SOC 2 and HIPAA.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Architect cloud security solutions covering IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and secure application design.
• Develop observability strategy using monitoring/logging to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, and cloud operations; translate business/technical requirements into reusable solutions.
• Lead technical governance reviews and mentor engineering teams.
• Support cloud cost optimization aligned with FinOps principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in cloud architecture/solution architecture/cloud engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on experience designing and operating AWS solutions in enterprise SaaS environments.
• Deep expertise in AWS services (compute, storage, networking, serverless, integration).
• Strong knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience implementing secure architectures with IAM and encryption, plus compliance frameworks.
• Hands-on IaC (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and deployment automation.
• Observability tools experience: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana (or equivalents).
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills for complex distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; can influence technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership experience mentoring engineers across multiple teams.

Preferred

• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent) plus additional AWS/DevOps certifications.
• Experience with FinOps (cost modeling, ROI analysis).
