Sr Cloud Architect

Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Architect on the Cloud Engineering team, you will lead the design and implementation of complex cloud solutions across multiple cloud platforms. You’ll act as a technical authority for architecture strategy, security, cost optimization, and the secure adoption and governance of enterprise AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex cloud solutions for clients with sophisticated requirements
• Provide expert cloud architecture guidance across multi-cloud and hybrid environments
• Lead architectural reviews and provide authoritative guidance on design decisions
• Implement and optimize cloud security controls and compliance frameworks
• Perform cloud cost optimization assessments and recommend changes to maximize ROI
• Mentor junior cloud engineers/architects and drive best practices across the organization
• Serve as primary technical authority in client engagements
• Drive adoption of cloud best practices and emerging technologies
• Advise on secure integration of enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise), including governance and data handling
• Advise on data readiness for AI (sensitivity labeling, permissions hygiene, oversharing remediation—especially in Microsoft 365)
• Architect multi-region solutions with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Maintain cloud architecture standards, patterns, and governance frameworks
• Translate business objectives into comprehensive technical architectures
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services/technologies
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging cloud technologies
• Provide thought leadership on cloud strategy and roadmap development

Requirements

• Ability to articulate complex architectures to executives and diverse stakeholders
• Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade client solutions
• Ability to lead projects under pressure with competing priorities
• Highly analytical with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Availability to occasionally work nights and some weekends
• Expert knowledge of one or more major public clouds: Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud (networking, compute, security, IAM, cost optimization)
• Strong Windows Server expertise including Active Directory and hybrid identity solutions
• Proficiency with Git and version control with Azure DevOps repositories
• Deep familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes / cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux at enterprise scale
• Advanced experience deploying to Azure using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure multi-region DR/BC planning
• Hands-on advisory experience integrating governance/data handling for enterprise AI platforms
