Sr. Android Developer

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote) | Duration: 1 year

Role Overview

You will develop, test, and deploy hands-on solutions for the Android/TV Amazon Fire TV platform. You’ll partner with the product team to understand requirements, deliver on priorities, and help improve existing solutions.

Responsibilities

Hands-on software development on Android/TV for Amazon Fire TV
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain/improve existing solutions
Collaborate with product teams to deliver product requirements
Own project priorities and deadlines
Contribute to performance optimization, app stability, and profiling
Help prepare business cases, requirements documents, and Android product roadmaps
Create architectural diagrams and technical specifications
Promote coding standards through code reviews and mentoring

Required Qualifications

6+ years developing Android applications
Shipped one or more apps to Google Play and/or Amazon app store
Strong programming experience in Java and Kotlin
Experience with Gradle and Android Studio
Experience implementing software design patterns
Understanding of Architecture Components and Material Design
Knowledge of performance profiling and optimization
Ability to work with multiple Scrum teams in an Agile process
Experience with unit testing, test-driven development, branching strategies, and CI/CD
Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate requirements/functional design sessions

Nice to Have

Familiarity with RxJava (or other reactive frameworks)
Experience working with globally distributed teams
Cross-platform experience (e.g., Android + iOS, Kotlin Multiplatform)
