Role Overview

Sr. AI Solutions Architect — GCP & Agentic Systems (hands-on delivery)

USDM Life Sciences is looking for a senior technical voice who will design and deliver production-grade agentic AI pipelines on Vertex AI for pharmaceutical and biotech clients. This is not an advisory-only role—you will build systems in the code, own architecture decisions, and work closely with clients and Google engineers from day one.

What You Will Own

Design and build production agentic orchestration layers on Vertex AI using modular, composable, independently invokable agents.
Deliver GCP pipeline infrastructure using:
- Cloud Dataflow and Apache Beam
- Airflow
- Cloud Functions
- BigQuery
Integrate FHIR Server APIs with enterprise security and data governance controls (pharma/healthcare clients).
Own GCP IAM design including:
- Agent identity governance
- Log retention architecture for regulated pharmaceutical data environments
Author to-be technical architecture documentation (D3) for GCP infrastructure and security.
Lead technical working sessions with client engineering teams and Google engineers.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to reusable assets and delivery standards.
Support pre-sales/proposals with technical scoping and solution design input.

What You Bring

Active Google Cloud Professional certification (Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or ML Engineer)—current and not lapsed.
Google Cloud Delivery Readiness Program (DRP) score at the Master tier.
Production experience building Vertex AI agentic pipelines (shipped systems at scale, not demos/POCs).
Hands-on GCP pipeline engineering experience with Dataflow/Beam, Airflow, and BigQuery in production.
FHIR Server API integration experience with R4 minimum, built against a real FHIR server in a healthcare/pharma environment.
Production GCP security model design experience (IAM, service account governance, agent identity controls, log retention) in regulated environments.
Production observability experience: failure handling, retry logic, drift detection, SLA monitoring.
Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with engineering and business stakeholders.

Even Better If You Have

Experience delivering in life sciences / pharmaceutical / GxP regulated environments.
Background from Google Professional Services or a large global systems integrator with active GCP practice.
FHIR R5 depth and ability to hold design-level conversations with FHIR engineers.
