Sr Accounting Manager – Technical Accounting & Reporting

Role overview

Sr. Accounting Manager focused on technical accounting, financial reporting, and SOX compliance in a fast-paced environment. The role can be based in Palo Alto, CA or remotely (preference for CST zone).

Responsibilities

• Own and prepare technical accounting memos for complex/non-routine transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, accruals, inventory)
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under U.S. GAAP
• Lead and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
• Support and maintain SOX compliance and an internal control framework (documentation and testing)
• Partner with external auditors on accounting positions and audit deliverables
• Perform variance analysis and provide clear financial insights
• Drive process improvements and close efficiency initiatives
• Support and optimize finance systems, including SAP, FloQast, and LeaseQuery
• Manage a team of direct reports

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with public accounting and/or publicly traded company environment (Big 4 strongly preferred)
• Strong U.S. GAAP expertise and ability to perform technical accounting research
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos in a public/audit environment
• Experience with SOX implementation, control design, and testing
• Experience with financial reporting and month-end close

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with FloQast and/or LeaseQuery
• Advanced SAP experience
• Strong technical accounting documentation and ownership mindset
• Ability to work independently; strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams and auditors
