About the role
Role: Sr. Accountant (Senior Accountant)
CFGO is seeking a Senior Accountant to support client financial operations in the life science/biotech space. The role focuses heavily on the monthly/quarterly close process, audit support, and ongoing accounting operations including AP, payroll assistance, and tax reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities (e.g., bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, inventory reporting, general ledger adjustments)
- Assist with the annual external audit process
- Help with cost analysis reporting
- Generate accounting reports for internal and external stakeholders
- File monthly and quarterly sales taxes
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting
- Partner with the Controller on accounting issues
- Support travel and expense administration
- Provide payroll assistance and process accounts payable
- Perform ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years combined accounting/finance experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration (accounting emphasis) or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, cost accounting/cost control, and GAAP
- Advanced bookkeeping/accounting best practices and knowledge of relevant regulations
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Access/database or other system knowledge a plus)
- CPA or CMA preferred (not required)
Location / Remote
- Fully remote, but candidates must live within 90 miles of Boston.
