Specialist Solutions Architect - Cloud Platform & Infrastructure

Role Overview

You will work as an Infrastructure & Platform Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA), serving as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers. You’ll guide customers through the architecture, administration, and security of their Databricks deployments, partnering with Solutions Architects to align customer roadmaps with Databricks capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership across the platform lifecycle: from initial architectural design through production deployment and administration.
• Design secure, scalable enterprise deployments that meet complex cloud networking, identity, and compliance requirements.
• Act as a domain subject matter expert across one or more core areas (security/identity, networking/deployments, platform administration, or infrastructure automation).
• Pre-sales technical collaboration: build custom proof-of-concept (PoC) architectures and contribute technical content for complex deals.
• Drive adoption through knowledge sharing (tutorials, hackathons, conference talks) and contribution to the Databricks open-source ecosystem.

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on experience in a technical role with deep cloud platform architecture expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud security and networking best practices.
• 2+ years experience with distributed architectures and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• 2+ years customer-facing technical experience (pre-sales, post-sales, or consulting).
• Specialized expertise in at least one:
  • Security & Identity: platform/network/data/GenAI/model security, encryption, vulnerability management, compliance, identity protocols (SCIM, OAuth, SAML, Federation).
  • Networking & Deployments: enterprise cloud networking architecture, routing, performance optimization, large-scale deployment management.
  • Platform Administration: HA/DR, cluster orchestration, observability (logging/monitoring/auditing), and cloud cost management.
  • Infrastructure Automation (InfraOps): hands-on IaC using tools such as Terraform.
• Hands-on programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala, plus strong SQL proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Relevant Databricks Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or Platform Administrator).
• Ability to hit role-specific training and technical milestones within the first 6 months.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
