About the role

Role: Solutions Engineer (Forward Deployed / Customer-embedded)

You will help embed agentic/LLM systems directly into customer codebases, take ownership from first conversation through live deployment, and partner closely with customers to ship reliable software.

What you’ll own

Deploy and embed agentic/LLM systems into customer production environments
Full-stack delivery: TypeScript/React (front end) and Python (back end), plus required integrations
Build infrastructure and evaluation (evals) layers to make deployments reliable
Diagnose live production failures in customer systems and drive durable fixes
Own customer relationships end-to-end, translating ambiguous goals into shipped software

What we’re looking for

A genuine software engineer who ships code (not a scripting-only implementation/solutions engineer)
Production experience shipping AI/LLM or agentic systems for real customers (including real evals where required; RAG experience is common but not the ceiling)
Strong full-stack and/or infra depth: TypeScript/React, Python, APIs, Kubernetes, and distributed systems
Customer-facing, forward-deployed mindset—comfortable working closely with users in real settings

Experience

Typically 3–8 years
Must be based in the SF area or able to work remotely with US East Coast / Europe hours

Bonus / preferred signals

Prior Forward Deployed Engineer, solutions/implementation engineering at an AI-infrastructure/tooling startup
Founding/early-engineer experience at a venture-backed company
Experience with evals, observability, agent behavior monitoring, enterprise deployment
Brand pedigree from AI/infra leaders (e.g., Anthropic / OpenAI / Scale / Databricks / Datadog)

Compensation

$150K–$300K+ base, plus equity (band and equity depend on client stage and seniority)

Not a fit

Pure solutions/implementation engineers without real software depth
Legacy/internal DevOps or scripting-not-coding profiles
AI experience limited to RAG demos only
Candidates looking for a different role where FDE is merely a fallback
