Solutions Architect

Role Overview

Join TigerData as a Solutions Architect, working at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering. You’ll provide hands-on technical expertise to help design and scale systems on PostgreSQL, build trust with engineers, and influence real technical decisions.

Key Missions

• Partner with Sales (Account Executives) to win deals and earn engineering trust through hands-on technical support.
• Design scalable systems using PostgreSQL and TigerData, tackling real issues such as:
  • schema design
  • query optimization
  • performance troubleshooting
• Act as a trusted technical partner throughout the sales cycle, from initial conversations through early adoption.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering based on customer needs and technical findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and system design conversations with engineering stakeholders.
• Communicate clearly across deep technical and business-oriented contexts.
• Continuously learn the Postgres ecosystem and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL is a strong plus).
• Experience in a Solutions Architect / Sales Engineer / pre-sales role for a technical or developer-focused product.
• Ability to switch between technical discussions and higher-level business conversations.
• Interest in using AI tools to work faster and smarter.
• Comfort discussing data models, query plans, performance tuning, and system design with engineers.
• Must be enthusiastic about learning; prior experience with the full TigerData stack is not required.

Nice to Have / Additional Context

• Understanding of cloud environments: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Understanding of modern data stacks (ETL pipelines, storage, compute).
• Familiarity with (or curiosity about) advanced Postgres/tiger data features such as Hypertables, Hypercore, vector search, and real-time analytics.
