About the role
Role Overview
Solutions Architect supporting a major Federal agency’s real estate IT infrastructure. You will evaluate and recommend ways to optimize and modernize a portfolio of COTS real estate platforms, enterprise systems, and custom applications, acting as a consultant to technical and functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Assess current platforms and capabilities to identify pain points and data gaps.
- Evaluate and recommend application enhancements and improvements for real estate systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and technical staff to:
- Identify technical requirements and current use cases
- Create user stories with acceptance criteria
- Design and estimate timelines and costs
- Facilitate and deliver reports
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, translating operational needs into technically actionable specifications.
- Support modernization activities, including fit-gap analysis and vendor evaluation.
- Develop and analyze metrics and identify data gaps.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years experience as a systems engineer on complex enterprise IT programs, including 3+ years as a solutions architect/solutions engineer.
- Experience with federal real estate programs, GSA/PBS operations, or government-owned/leased property management.
- Proven stakeholder collaboration skills; translate operational needs into requirements and specifications.
- Experience with or knowledge of tools such as BM Trirega, IBM Maximo, Kahua, Salesforce, Appian (or similar CRM/workflow tools).
- Understanding of use cases for Databricks, ArcGIS, and Uptick.
- Experience analyzing metrics, identifying valuable measurements, and conducting data analysis.
- Background supporting federal acquisition activities (e.g., fit-gap analysis, vendor evaluation).
- Experience at the intersection of real estate/facilities management/property operations and enterprise IT (commercial/private/non-governmental organizations).
- Strong communication skills to create requirement baselines for both technical and business audiences.
- Independent problem-solving, strong analytical/system thinking, and strong time management.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience delivering in Agile or SAFe environments.
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or BPM/process improvement.
- Familiarity with federal IT governance and structured requirements management for modernization.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Eligibility / Security
- US Citizenship required.
- Must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before starting.
