About the role
Role Overview
The Solutions Architect proactively leads and supports architecture activities for a portfolio of solutions. You will ensure technology solutions meet business needs while aligning with architectural governance, standards, and enterprise direction.
Work model: 100% remote, but the final interview is onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist technology evaluations, solution designs, and remediation efforts.
- Translate business goals, objectives, outcomes, and value-stream thinking into an architectural blueprint.
- Create deliverables to manage a domain portfolio of "to-be" and "as-is" solutions and drive modernization.
- Monitor and document existing and potential technologies within the domain; identify technical debt and misalignment.
- Coordinate partner teams and lead technology integration for the domain.
- Build and maintain a domain-wide technology roadmap (current-to-future state evolution).
- Develop and support architecture transition plans across related business applications/technologies.
- Work with Product Owners to maintain a robust architectural runway across the product lifecycle.
- Analyze and document requirements for:
- Data flows and processes
- Hardware/software environments
- Network connectivity, system interfaces
- Security controls and visualization
- Provide guidance to Agile teams and Product Owners to align execution with the enterprise future-state architecture vision.
- Define architectural principles, patterns, guidelines, and standards for engineering teams.
- Propose and estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives.
Requirements / Qualifications (KSAs)
- Strong ability to document and communicate solution architecture design and analysis work.
- Ensure adherence to architectural standards and collaborate effectively with vendors and third parties.
- Align stakeholders on direction/results and actively lead teams through project phases.
- Modernize legacy technologies, using knowledge of legacy systems to choose appropriate modernization paths.
- Communicate architecture clearly and quickly grasp capabilities/benefits of modern technologies.
- Vendor/technology neutral approach—focus on results over personal preferences.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working with domain portfolio management and enterprise architecture governance.
- Familiarity with Agile execution and product lifecycle architectural planning.
