Solutions Architect (Datacenter and Cloud Infrastructure)

Role Overview

Solutions Architect focused on datacenter and cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions for enterprise datacenter and networking, including cloud hypervisor and BCDR (Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery).
• Gather requirements and propose solutions across hardware, software, engineering, and BCDR services.
• Recommend viability, implementation strategies, and optimal rollout approaches.
• Produce solution and configuration designs based on technical requirements.
• Develop scalable architectures for:
  • DC, LAN, WAN, WLAN
  • Firewalls and other network devices
  • On-prem and cloud compute and storage
  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions
• Assess and design on-prem to cloud migration (optimization, workflows/processes, and level of effort).
• Create statements of work (SOWs), level of effort, and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Identify, research, evaluate, and implement emerging network technologies.
• Provide oversight for configuration, installation, and maintenance.
• Document requirements and design decisions; ensure continuity with delivery teams.
• Train deployment/field engineers for on-site deployment and troubleshooting.

Primary Task Examples

• Review current networking/security environments and design modern, cloud-driven alternatives.
• Review and plan upgrades for existing hypervisor footprints; estimate effort.
• Provide migration/modernization alternatives (e.g., VMware to Hyper-V, on-prem to Azure/AWS, hybrid) including ROI via 3-year and 5-year TCO.
• Review and redesign Azure environments including migration plans and effort.
• Review backup posture (schedule, last restore test, expected RTO/RPO, scalability, reliability).
• Design updated solutions leveraging Datto or Veeam to meet customer requirements, including BCDR plan support.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in:
  • Cloud Networking and Network Security
  • Hypervisors (VMware and Hyper-V)
  • Azure WAF and related components
  • BCDR (Datto and Veeam)
  • SAN and storage solutions
  • Overseeing strategic technology programs for enterprise clients
• Experience preparing SOWs and BOMs.
• Strong communication skills with customer stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience in Global Financial Services, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Managed Services.
