Solutions Architect, Cloud

Role Overview

The Solutions Architect, Cloud, is a key contributor to the Clearinghouse’s major modernization initiative to re-engineer and re-platform mission-critical applications. The role designs application systems for multiple lines of business, using emerging technologies and architectural best practices to enable loosely coupled, scalable solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design current and future state architectures that advance customer experience and organizational excellence.
• Recommend strategic architectural considerations, including technology direction and standards.
• Understand the business model (processes, application architectures, supporting systems) to design enterprise solutions that meet business requirements.
• Create design artifacts describing solution structure, behavior, workflow, and related characteristics.
• Assess and reconcile project constraints across scope, schedule, budget, quality, cost, risk, and resources.
• Make technological and managerial decisions aligned to project goals.
• Present proposed solutions to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for approval; collaborate with development teams and ARB members to refine designs beforehand.
• Investigate and evaluate new solutions using custom software, commercial tools, and open source.
• Develop proofs of concept, prototypes, and technical validations to support strategic decision-making (in a federated architecture model).

How You Work With Others

Collaborate across the federated architecture team, application development, infrastructure, PMO, business units, the Chief Data Office (CDO), and external partners.

Work Location / Remote Policy

• Remote-first, with periodic on-site work required depending on departmental/division needs.
• Candidates must either live within reasonable commuting distance to Herndon, VA or be willing to travel there when required.
