About the role

Role Overview

Join Snowflake as a Solution Engineer (Data Engineering Specialist). You will provide technical leadership and work closely with the sales team to demonstrate Snowflake’s value across the entire sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales to understand customer needs and shape strategies for winning sales cycles
  • Deliver value-based technical demos for both business executives and technical audiences
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve Snowflake products and marketing
  • Work hands-on with prospects/customers to demonstrate and communicate Snowflake’s capabilities throughout the sales process
  • Use deep expertise in data engineering and data architecture to connect customer problems to Snowflake solutions

Requirements

  • 10+ years of architecture and data engineering experience in the enterprise data space
  • 5+ years experience in a pre-sales role (e.g., Sales Engineer/Solution Engineer/Solutions Architect)
  • Strong data engineering architecture expertise and confidence presenting/demonstrating to execs and technical teams
  • Experience designing interoperable data lakehouse architectures
  • Hands-on experience with Iceberg, Delta, and Parquet
  • Deep understanding of data integration and building ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Apache NiFi, Matillion, Fivetran, Qlik, Informatica)
  • Familiarity with streaming and near-real-time use cases (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, Kinesis, including CDC)
  • Broad experience across large-scale databases/data warehouses, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric)
  • Excellent presentation and discovery skills, including connecting customer architecture to Snowflake data architecture

Nice to Have / Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
