Role Overview

Part-time remote role for a Software Tester / QA Analyst / Automation Engineer at The Project Studio. You will validate software functionality, performance, and reliability by designing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test cases.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain manual and automated test cases
  • Create test plans
  • Perform regression and exploratory testing
  • Document test results clearly
  • Track issues and follow through toward resolution
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to:
    • clarify requirements
    • identify defects
    • ensure high-quality releases
  • Improve QA processes, increase test coverage, and recommend tools/frameworks for scalable automation

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in Software Testing / QA, including:
    • test levels and test types
    • defect lifecycles
  • Hands-on experience with test execution and creating/managing/reviewing test cases
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret requirements, find edge cases, and diagnose root causes
  • Familiarity with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) is preferred
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) is preferred
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote setup
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and giving feedback
  • Self-motivated, organized, able to manage priorities in a part-time remote role

Nice to Have

  • Relevant certification (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) or coursework in software testing/computer science
  • Additional/alternative automation frameworks beyond the examples provided
