Software Test Engineer - Fully Remote

Role Overview

Contract Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) — fully remote in the United States. You will design and implement automated testing frameworks, collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testing is enabled, and help drive release readiness and product quality through automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test frameworks and tools to close testing gaps.
• Manage contingent engineers to maintain high output volume.
• Partner with infrastructure and product engineering teams to ensure automated testing is fully enabled.
• Drive goals independently by tracking/reporting status, escalating risks, and removing blockers.
• Advocate for high quality within PQX by escalating automation-detected issues and helping teams understand testing importance.
• Design and implement high-quality automated tests to verify release readiness and product quality.

Requirements

• 2+ years building and analyzing technical automated test frameworks and infrastructure.
• 2+ years coding in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ (or equivalent), including maintenance and code review.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience planning, tracking, and controlling test environments and data.
• Experience writing automation code/frameworks for complex multi-system scenarios.
• Familiarity with automation testing types including:
  • Unit, Functional, Load, Security, Behavioral, Integration,
  • Component, Contract, End-to-End.
• Experience reviewing QA procedures, removing redundancies, and improving efficiency.

Nice-to-Haves

• 2+ years building automation strategies and estimating test efforts.

Contract & Compensation

• Hourly contractor paid $60–$80/hour via Stripe Connect, paid weekly.
