Role Overview

Software Test Engineer (Contract | Remote)

You will support an AI initiative that improves AI-generated code documentation, commit messages, and pull request (PR) descriptions. This is not a software development position; instead, you will review code and AI-generated technical content and rewrite it to meet real engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Review source code, commits, and pull requests across multiple languages
• Evaluate AI-generated commit messages and technical documentation
• Rewrite content to reflect clarity, accuracy, and experienced-engineer judgment
• Identify inaccuracies, omissions, and overly verbose or low-quality AI-generated content
• Provide clear, concise summaries of code changes
• Help produce high-quality training data for next-generation AI models

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, QA/SDET, data engineering, or related technical experience
• Strong ability to read and understand source code
• Experience participating in code reviews and PR processes
• Excellent written English communication skills
• Familiarity with Git and software development/version control workflows
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a Software Engineer, SDET, QA Engineer, Data Engineer, AI/ML Engineer, or Technical Writer with coding experience
• Experience writing technical documentation, release notes, or PR descriptions
• Python experience
• Exposure to reviewing code across multiple languages
• Familiarity with AI/ML, Generative AI, or LLM-based applications

Details

• Duration: 1-month contract with extension potential; contract assignment 1 to 6+ months
• Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
• Remote: ET/CT/MT zones; working ET hours
• Compensation: $45–$70 per hour
