Software Test Engineer - Entry level (contract)

Role Overview

Entry-level Software Test Engineer (Contract) to kick-start a career in software quality assurance at Hilton. This is a contract role where services are provided to Hilton via Talent Solutions, with close mentorship and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Design and follow test processes and procedures to ensure software meets requirements
• Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test plans
• Perform routine manual testing covering functionality, usability, and reliability
• Identify, document, and investigate issues found during testing
• Clearly report defects and support troubleshooting with detailed documentation
• Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, and teammates to resolve issues
• Participate in test case reviews and validation to ensure coverage and accuracy
• Assist with regression testing and validation of fixes
• Follow established QA standards, tools, and methodologies

Requirements

• Up to 3 years of relevant experience in software testing/QA (internships and academic projects count)
• Understanding of manual testing, test cases, and test plans
• Basic knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
• Familiarity with defect tracking or test management tools
• Basic understanding of Agile or Waterfall
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Compensation & Work Setup

• $45–$50 USD/hour
• US-based remote role with preference for candidates near Memphis, TN
