Software Test Engineer

Role Overview

The Software Test Engineer owns end-to-end testing to ensure high-quality software releases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, identify risks, and validate release readiness across projects and system enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Review test cases created by test analysts and provide feedback or updates
• Analyze business requirements with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts
• Identify test conditions and create detailed test cases
• Participate in peer reviews of test cases and test plans
• Create and condition test data for execution
• Execute manual and automation tests per approved test plans
• Document test results and report defects accurately
• Evaluate test outcomes, validate system functionality, and manage retesting/closure of defects
• Validate release notes prior to deployment
• Provide daily status reports and testing updates
• Identify, document, and report risks
• Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams; manage day-to-day GTS testing process implementation
• Complete assigned technical/domain learning within set timeframes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of experience in software testing
• Strong experience in test case creation and review
• Ability to analyze business requirements and work effectively with stakeholders
• Proficiency in manual and automation testing aligned to structured test plans
• Experience managing defect documentation and supporting full defect lifecycle resolution
• Ability to identify and escalate risks in a timely manner
• Clear communication skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines and quality standards
