Software Test Engineer

Role Overview

Software Test Engineer (100% Remote, U.S.) Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to strengthen test automation practices and embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve automation frameworks
• Write production-quality test code
• Partner with development teams to integrate quality engineering across the SDLC
• Automate and support multiple test types:
  • Unit, integration, end-to-end testing
  • Performance testing
  • Security testing
• Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with cross-functional partners (product, design, engineering, operations, business)
• Raise the quality bar through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of more junior engineers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation framework: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation
• Solid SQL skills for database validation
• Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures
• Excellent debugging, communication, and documentation skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Contract testing tools: Pact / Spring Cloud Contract
• Performance testing tools: JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
• Security testing tools: OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Snyk
• Familiarity with chaos engineering and resilience testing
• ISTQB (or equivalent) QA certification
