About the role

Role Overview

Avive is hiring a Cloud Test Engineer in its R&D organization. You will test Avive’s cloud-based products—including websites, APIs, and communication systems—across development, release, and maintenance. While the core of the role is software/cloud testing, you will also use Avive’s hardware devices for system-level testing.

Responsibilities

Perform manual testing of websites across desktop, mobile, and tablet platforms
Conduct end-to-end user testing spanning web applications and embedded devices
Write Python scripts to test APIs and communication protocols, and to support test automation
Analyze requirements for testability and design comprehensive test suites (including edge cases)
Create test protocols, test cases, and test reports based on requirements and expected system behavior
Triaging defects: identify root causes, define reproducibility steps, and document findings in Jira
Support testing across ad-hoc, targeted ticket testing, system-level, and formal verification stages
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, energetic approach

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience)
2+ years of experience testing web or mobile applications
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
Ability to reason logically and analyze issues
Proven capability to identify and create test cases for new features
Experience managing test cases in Jira
Python scripting proficiency for test development/automation
Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with integration testing involving embedded firmware or IoT systems
Experience with automated testing frameworks, including Python BDD and Selenium
Hands-on experience with development tools such as Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, or Xcode
Exposure to AWS cloud services or cloud-based test environments
