About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Data Quality Engineer (Sr II) at IDEXX, joining the Clinical Information Services team. You will develop and execute test strategies to ensure the quality of data pipelines and integrations, including machine learning and rules-based classification and related applications that support high-impact clinical insights.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test strategies for data pipelines, integrations, and classification applications
Test the full suite of platform capabilities using:
- Automation testing
- Exploratory testing
Design and execute test plans to verify conformance to business and technical specifications
Create and maintain test data and test environments needed for execution
Document and communicate test results and metrics in a timely and effective manner
Assess and clearly communicate test/implementation risks
Improve the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of data-quality testing efforts
Collaborate with Scrum teams and stakeholders (data scientists, developers, DevOps, product owners, Scrum masters)
Contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices

Requirements

Proficiency in designing/executing test plans and assuring conformance to specifications
Proficiency in creating/maintaining test data and environments
Proficiency documenting and communicating test results/metrics
Ability to assess and communicate risk
Experience with automation testing
Demonstrated drive to support continuous improvement
Programming experience: Python
Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
Experience with SQL and relational databases
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (e.g., AWS)
Experience with data quality, system, user interface, and integration testing
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams
Exposure to Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts
Exposure to data/data science platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
Ability to rapidly learn and adapt

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $130,000 - $145,000 / year
