About the role
Role Overview
You’ll help scale and improve Tenable’s cloud-based vulnerability management platform for private and US Government cloud customers. As a Software/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - FedRAMP, you’ll focus on reliability, availability, and automation across production environments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Tenable cloud product code and functionality are reliable and highly available in cloud environments
- Respond to support escalations by troubleshooting complex technical problems and resolving data/configuration issues within service level objectives
- Develop software, tools, and scripts to automate deployment, management, and monitoring of production systems
- Collaborate with peers and cloud engineers on complex projects and on new cloud technologies
- Translate functional requirements into solution designs and guide enhancements/bugs through to production deployments
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies in tools and technology
- Create and maintain operational documentation and contribute to standardization across services and disciplines
- Perform system upgrades and application updates, and define monitoring requirements based on customer/organizational needs
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and support production system availability
- Remediate infrastructure and/or container security vulnerabilities
Requirements
- U.S. citizen required
- 2+ years of related SRE experience
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, concurrency, system design) for distributed reliability/scalability problems
- Must meet at least one:
- Currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA and able to work remotely
- Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Curiosity-driven mindset toward emerging engineering technologies, including integrating AI-augmented development into daily SRE workflows
Nice to Haves
- Experience integrating AI-assisted workflows into scripting, debugging, monitoring, and incident retrospectives
