Software QA Engineer

Sundayy/Whova is hiring a Software QA Engineer for its remote team in Illinois. The role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the company’s event management software and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Define testable user stories with product owners, including acceptance criteria
• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing strategies
• Design, automate, and maintain manual and automated regression test suites
• Build and improve test automation tools and testing infrastructure
• Investigate quality issues and partner with development teams to drive fixes
• Participate across the full SDLC to embed quality from inception to deployment
• Continuously learn new testing tools and methodologies to improve effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• Proven experience in software quality assurance (test automation and manual testing)
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices for coding, testing, and source control
• Experience with mobile and web automation tools/frameworks
• Ability to create and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing infrastructure
• Strong collaboration skills and proactive mindset
• Knowledge of engineering practices such as code reviews and build processes
• Strong problem-solving and ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
