Role Overview

Software QA Engineer (Remote)

You will join a Quality Engineering team to ensure websites, products, and platforms deliver high quality and strong performance. You’ll collaborate with Product Managers and Developers, design and execute testing strategies, and help improve QA standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute test plans across types including:
  • Smoke, regression, functional, and performance testing
• Analyze software internals, debug issues, and review logs
• Develop automated tests using scripting and automation tools
• Introduce innovative testing tools and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Communicate testing metrics and insights to stakeholders
• Mentor peers and contribute to continuous QA improvements

Required Qualifications

• Functional testing experience: writing, maintaining, and executing functional test cases
• UI automation: building and managing UI automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
• API testing: automate and test REST APIs and services (mentions ReactNative and Protobuf)
• Database testing: hands-on SQL experience; testing with databases such as MongoDB and Oracle
• Automation frameworks and CI/CD: ability to build test automation frameworks and pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub)
• Programming/problem solving: experience coding in Playwright, Java, JSON, or JavaScript
• Strong understanding of the software test and defect life cycle
• Ability to convey testing metrics and insights to stakeholders
• Team collaboration and peer mentoring experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Performance testing and DevOps practices
• Deeper database/SQL knowledge
• Experience testing mobile applications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Experience

• At least 5+ years in software QA and automation testing
