About the role
Software QA Engineer (Remote)
Company: Peaple Talent (partnered client)
Employment: Permanent
Location: Remote (with monthly visits to the South West Office)
Role Overview
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through both manual and automated testing, with security and customer experience as core priorities.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated testing
- Review user stories and technical specifications/design documents
- Identify and feedback changes that may impact user experience
- Ensure security is considered throughout the solution
- Estimate and plan testing activities
- Spot variations from acceptance criteria
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities
- Create and maintain automated test coverage using BDD
- Update, record, and communicate testing results to the development team
Requirements
- Experience reviewing user stories, technical specifications, and design documents
- Ability to identify UX-impacting changes and advise on them
- Experience estimating/planning testing efforts
- Proven ability to detect deviations from acceptance criteria
- Experience identifying security vulnerabilities
- Experience creating test scripts and managing automated testing (incl. BDD)
Nice-to-haves
- Strong experience with both manual and automation testing (explicitly required in the posting)
Compensation
- Up to £45,000 per annum
