Software QA Engineer L3

Role Overview

Software QA Engineer L3 works with Product Managers and the Development team to ensure Frontdoor’s sites, products, and platforms meet high-quality standards. The role focuses on improving QA practices, establishing quality test standards, and operating under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute smoke, regression, functional, performance, and other required test cases
• Ensure test cases have full traceability to business requirements and technical specifications
• Understand software internals, debug issues, review logs, and write automated tests using scripting/automation tools
• Communicate testing metrics to stakeholders regularly
• Log and retest defects
• Identify and maintain test data requirements
• Support complex internal process improvement initiatives
• Mentor and train QA Engineer L2

Requirements

• Functional testing experience: writing and executing test cases
• UI automation experience and understanding of the test framework
• REST API testing and automation experience
• Problem-solving skills and openness to coding (preferably Java)
• Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and in a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Performance testing experience
• DevOps experience
• Working experience on databases (DB)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics (with computer background)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in testing, including automation testing
