About the role
Role overview
Constant Contact is hiring an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead engineers on its Customer Data Platform (CDP) team. You’ll manage and develop a team delivering critical functionality for major company initiatives, partnering closely with the Product Owner on planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex technical projects and teams focused on a data-driven platform
- Drive Agile delivery and maintain a high-performing engineering culture
- Hire, mentor, and grow software engineers; foster innovation, collaboration, ownership, and accountability
- Lead and motivate engineers and earn trust through communication and diplomacy
- Support ingestion and processing of real-time streaming events for the CDP
- Improve downstream outcomes including real-time customer segmentation, automated customer journeys, and insights/recommendations for marketers
- Collaborate with other managers to deliver core SaaS functionality
Requirements
- 8+ years industry experience
- 3+ years proven track record leading software teams in a data-driven environment
- Experience working with managers to drive execution and delivery for SaaS products
- Strong technical background across a broad mix of technologies including:
- Java, Go
- React
- AWS
- CI/CD
- Automated Testing
- MySQL
- Experience designing and implementing solutions for scaling large systems
- Experience with real-time data streaming
- Experience with Apache Flink and Kubernetes
- Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban
