About the role

Join Affirm as an L7 Engineering Manager, leading the Furnishing Engineering team responsible for building and operating credit reporting data pipelines and services. You will set technical direction, manage and grow a team of engineers, and partner closely with Product, Compliance/Legal, and Analytics. This role requires exceptional technical rigor and a deep understanding of ETL pipeline design. You will own key outcomes and metrics, drive multi-quarter cross-org initiatives, and engage with senior management. Key missions: Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for building and operating data pipelines and services for credit reporting.. Set technical direction and execution strategy across data pipelines, platform services, and reliability controls, balancing compliance and customer impact.. Drive delivery through clear technical decision-making and operational discipline, and lead multi-quarter cross-org initiatives to improve pipeline quality and reliability. Profile: - Drive to change consumer financial services for the better - 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer role with leadership responsibilities and 2+ years as an engineering manager - Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining consumer scale products - Fluency in back end system design - Knowledge of basic loans lifecycle and credit reporting is a plus - Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills - Prior experience growing and managing high performing engineering teams
