Software Engineer - Web/ML Dev Ops

Role Overview

Software Engineer (Web/ML Dev Ops) to support the development, deployment, and operations of Chooch AI’s Computer Vision and analytics web systems. This is a full-time remote role for US-based candidates, with occasional on-site travel for customer deployments and field testing.

Responsibilities

• Web Development & Analytics: Design, develop, and optimize web analytics services and learning models for computer vision applications.
• Data Management & ML Deployment: Work with ML engineers to ensure successful deployment and implementation of computer vision and LLM models.
• Algorithm Implementation: Implement state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms to improve accuracy and performance in real-world environments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Integrate ML models into broader product and system workflows within the solutions engineering team.
• Field Testing & Customer Requirements: Travel on-site as needed to gather requirements and validate live deployments for major enterprise customers.
• Performance Evaluation: Use qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate model performance and iterate to improve accuracy/efficiency.
• Research & Innovation: Stay current on web/backend/ML developments and help apply innovative approaches to complex problems.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Troubleshooting: Translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions and troubleshoot issues during development and deployment.

Requirements

• High proficiency in web development and backend frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, SQL, PostgreSQL, Python).
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Moderate experience with image processing / computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
• Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working independently and in a team.
• Comfort with the command line and Git.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience integrating ML models into production systems and working closely with customers in deployment settings.
• Proven ability to evaluate and iterate on computer vision model performance in production.
