About the role

Role Overview

Software Engineer at Violet Labs, building the software platform that will transform how engineering products are engineered.

What You’ll Do

  • Build integrations with tools used across the hardware engineering lifecycle (e.g., requirements management, modeling/simulation, PLM, project management, operations, purchasing).
  • Translate product specifications, designs, and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Improve efficiency, stability, and scalability of the software.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across product, operations, infrastructure, and security.
  • Help define and grow engineering culture, processes, and tools.

What You Should Have

  • Strong background and industry experience in production software engineering.
  • Proficiency with modern technologies including:
    • React, Next.js, TypeScript/Node.js, NestJS
    • TypeORM, PostgreSQL
    • RESTful APIs
  • Self-starter who can work through ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and a collaborative team mindset.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in hardware programs (spacecraft, launch vehicles, aircraft, robotics, consumer or medical devices).
  • Experience building in fast-growing startups.
  • Experience building products/systems that comply with ITAR and EAR regulations.
