About the role

Role Overview

The Software Engineer – Web Front-End builds, tests, and maintains front-end web applications at Stanford Health Care in an agile environment. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust web solutions that reflect SHC’s brand and provide a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities

Implement features and provide production application support for SHC products and public-facing web applications.
Perform unit testing, implementation, and ongoing production support.
Follow web standards and user experience best practices.
Implement high-fidelity visual and UX designs according to specifications.
Monitor and ensure system improvements for quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot issues related to user interaction, webpage performance, and mobile web optimization.
Gather and document software requirements, create technical design specifications, and ensure UI meets functional requirements.
Develop functional prototypes from wireframes and mockups and maintain proper documentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to refine and improve UX.

Requirements

3–5 years of directly related experience building public-facing websites.
3+ years JavaScript (asynchronous programming, closures, promises, ES6).
3+ years HTML/CSS (layout and cross-browser compatibility).
2+ years with ReactJS.
Experience with tools/tech such as Git, Grunt, Webpack, AJAX, JSON, jQuery.
Experience building responsive websites for multiple devices.
Strong knowledge of front-end optimization/performance and rich web design best practices.
Familiarity with user behavior/interaction design patterns and cross-browser issues.
Ability to architect/build front-end components and/or libraries.
Ability to develop responsive sites for mobile/tablet/desktop and multiple locales.
Ability to ship production-quality software for a large user audience.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team and communicate technical abstractions clearly.

Nice to Have

Exposure to AngularJS.
