About the role
Role Overview
Hourly contract Software Engineer (Remote) to build and integrate MCP-based services for the RL Studio platform.
Responsibilities
- Build MCP servers in Python using FastMCP for the RL Studio platform
- Integrate web or desktop applications into sandbox environments
- Work with APIs, Docker, Linux, and service configuration
- Implement populate and snapshot hooks for application state management
- Test applications locally and debug build, runtime, and permission issues
- Ensure applications meet platform validation and deployment standards
Requirements
- Strong Python programming experience
- Strong experience working with APIs, backend systems, and debugging
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and local testing workflows
- Experience handling configuration files and deployment pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail
Nice to Haves
- Experience with FastMCP or similar frameworks
- Experience integrating third-party applications or developer tools
- Experience with web applications, databases, or containerized environments
