Software Engineer – Remote | $50 –$120/hr

Role overview

Software Engineer (contract, part-time/remote) focused on advanced software engineering and code evaluation to improve AI model performance. You’ll review production-level code, strengthen quality, security, and performance practices, and support development workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth code reviews and pull request (PR) evaluations to ensure high engineering standards
• Identify, debug, and resolve complex issues across Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Go
• Build, review, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for deployment and testing efficiency
• Apply security best practices and performance optimization across systems
• Collaborate through GitHub, providing clear, actionable technical feedback
• Document findings and communicate technical insights effectively
• Contribute to AI model training initiatives aimed at improving development workflows

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong expertise in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Go
• Proven experience with code review/PR evaluation in open-source or production
• Proficiency with GitHub workflows in real environments
• Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills
• Deep understanding of code quality, security, and performance optimization
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI/ML systems or model training workflows
• Active contributor/maintainer in open-source projects
• Based in the US, Canada, LATAM, or the UK
