Software Engineer (React.js, Node.js)

Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer working directly with the CTO to redefine what small, agile engineering teams can deliver. You’ll shape the technical direction across high-impact areas including data architecture, systems design, and API development.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build distributed systems, data models, and public APIs for scalable solutions.
• Develop and improve customer-facing features end to end.
• Contribute to agent-powered automation and integrations with external agencies.
• Establish engineering practices for AI-native development (tooling, review processes, and codebase design).
• Make broad technical decisions, clearly communicate trade-offs, and educate the team.
• Drive initiatives for performance, reliability, developer experience, and architectural evolution.
• Mentor engineers via pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with the CTO on strategic technical planning.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and shipping complex software systems.
• Strong reasoning skills and ability to evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience operating and improving production systems.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, Prisma, Postgres, and AWS services.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and deliver solutions from conception through deployment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor.
• First-principles thinking and strong technical judgment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI-native development, tooling, and workflows.
