Software Engineer (React.js, API)

Role overview

Senior individual-contributor Software Engineer responsible for critical systems that impact warehouse operations, fulfillment accuracy, and customer outcomes. You’ll work close to real operational workflows, balancing strong engineering with pragmatic operational accountability.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and deploy production-quality code, owning the full lifecycle of features and systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver solutions aligned with customer and internal needs
• Build clean, maintainable, scalable software in a complex operational domain
• Support system upgrades, training, and rollout/implementation for successful adoption
• Estimate effort, complexity, and timelines accurately; break initiatives into clear milestones
• Contribute to technical strategy and performance optimization
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate delivery while maintaining full ownership and system understanding
• Participate in support/escalation rotations to debug and resolve urgent customer-facing issues
• Engage with operational workflows to ensure software meets real-world demands

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience building and operating production systems with real-world operational impact
• Web application development experience using React.js (or similar frameworks)
• Strong CS fundamentals, system design, and architecture tradeoff skills
• Ability to work through ambiguity and gather feedback from non-technical stakeholders
• Experience supporting/building systems used in high-pressure operational environments
• Comfort evaluating and using AI-assisted development tools and generated output
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with API-centric systems (implied by title: “API”)
• Demonstrated operational support experience via live incident/escalation rotations

Compensation & benefits

• Salary: $170,000–$215,000 per year (based on experience and location)
