Software Engineer – Python / Django

Role Overview

Software Engineer specializing in Python and Django to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance web applications and backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and web applications using Python/Django (or equivalent frameworks)
• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs aligned with enterprise standards
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions
• Ensure code quality via unit testing, peer reviews, and coding standards
• Use Git with enterprise branching/versioning practices
• Design database schemas, optimize queries, and support relational database operations
• Support automation/deployment activities (e.g., configuration and deployment tooling)
• Troubleshoot and resolve application/production issues promptly
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Support application user training sessions

Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional enterprise software development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with Django (or Flask/FastAPI)
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with Git and enterprise source control practices
• Relational database experience, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of application architecture, security principles, and backend best practices
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Podman
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing frameworks like Celery
• Exposure to observability/logging tools (e.g., Vector)

• Ansible for automation/config management
• Redis caching
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Concourse CI
• Basic frontend debugging with JavaScript
