About the role

Role overview

GC AI is seeking a Software Engineer, Product to build product experiences that transform knowledge work for legal teams. You’ll own features end-to-end, working closely with the founding team to ship systems that impact thousands of lawyers’ daily work.

Responsibilities

Design and implement full-stack features with strong UX and robust backend systems.
Architect scalable solutions across the product stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js).
Make key architecture and infrastructure decisions.
Build and optimize cloud-native systems on GCP.
Mentor and uplift engineers via code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Translate customer feedback into shippable specifications and move quickly.
Raise the reliability bar using observability, testing, and fallbacks.

Required experience

3+ years building production-grade web applications.
Strong expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
Deep understanding of React and frontend architecture.
Experience with GCP.
Track record of designing scalable backend systems and making durable architectural decisions.

Nice to have

Experience with modern ORMs (Drizzle/Prisma) and API design.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and building secure, compliant systems.
Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations.
Experience mentoring engineers.
Background in legal tech or B2B SaaS.
