Software Engineer - Mobile, iOS

Role Overview

Compass is looking for an iOS Software Engineer to help build a mobile platform for the home buying and selling experience. You’ll collaborate with engineers plus Product and Design to scope, prioritize, and deliver well-defined features.

What You’ll Do

• Work in a startup-like environment building agile products and services
• Collaborate with engineers across teams and with Product/Design to launch customer-focused projects
• Independently build components and deliver features with some guidance
• Understand technical trade-offs and recommend solutions
• Perform code reviews, participate in design reviews, and write high-quality tests
• Apply testable, maintainable, stable engineering practices with strong code quality and operational rigor
• Develop expertise in one or more components within your team’s domain
• Create clear technical documentation (diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, runbooks)
• Support engineering-led initiatives to improve speed, efficiency, and operational excellence

What We Look For

• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of professional iOS development
• Swift experience shipping apps to the App Store
• Familiarity with modern Swift practices, including:
  • SwiftUI
  • Swift Concurrency
• Exposure to reactive programming frameworks (plus)
• Knowledge of CS fundamentals and iOS design patterns/best practices
• Strong design sense and attention to detail
• Experience integrating with RESTful backend services
• Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills
