About the role

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, iOS on Figma’s Mobile Product team, you’ll help build and maintain features for the Figma iOS app (iPhone and iPad). You’ll partner with PMs, designers, researchers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, delightful mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

Work with Product Managers, designers, and engineers to ship Figma’s most popular features on iOS.
Use Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit to build and evolve the iOS application.
Participate in user research and testing to better understand customers.
Share responsibility for testing, releasing, and maintaining mobile apps.
Communicate and document architectural designs and requirements.
Provide thoughtful feedback and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners.
Contribute to the team’s growth by helping interview and recruit engineers.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience building iOS applications.
Strong understanding of mobile product development practices.
Proactive communication and a collaborative mindset across iOS/Android/web engineers.
Ability to write maintainable, performant code that delivers real user value.
Strong product sense and commitment to understanding users deeply.
Enthusiasm for mentoring and helping shape engineering culture.

Nice to Have

Experience as a tech lead or project lead delivering mobile-first experiences.
Familiarity with web development technologies such as TypeScript, React, or Python.
Comfort creating first-draft UI designs in code using established mobile UI/UX patterns.
Experience in one or more areas such as Android development, mobile API endpoints, or analytics/instrumentation for user behavior and trends.
